Part 2: ♪♪♪ “Fat guy in a little airplane seat” ♪♪♪
The passport dilemma is dealt with. We are on our way.
We have two planes that we will take to get to Italy . The first will get us to Toronto
and the second will be a larger plane to Rome ,
Italy . The first plane ride will be about an hour
and a half, while the second plane ride will be over seven hours.
When we check in at the airport, Sheena and I are given
seats across from each other in the aisle, while on the Toronto
to Italy
flight we are given seats together but in the middle of the four seat row. So neither is the best, but both Sheena and I
are optimistic and just happy to be getting underway.
Okay, so we need a movie reference break here. Hopefully, you have seen the movie Tommy
Boy with
Chris Farley, because as I am coming down the plane isle in
Regina, the scene with Chris Farley singing “Fat guy in a little coat” starts
playing in my head. I see my seat and
seated in the window seat is a big 300 pound red headed Newfie (how may you
ask, did I know he was a Newfie, because he was talking some kind of
indecipherable language to his buddy behind him). We are going to fit so well on this
flight. To add insult to injury, Sheena
sits down beside an empty window seat and I am thinking if nobody takes that
seat, I am making Sheena move over. No
offense Newfie guy, rather cuddle with my wife.
However, after a few minutes a skinny kid comes and takes his window
seat beside Sheena, and by skinny I mean 5’10” and sopping wet 160 pounds. I mean really the fates couldn’t pair the 160
Stringbean with the 300 Newfie.
I mean sometimes I think some one is having a good chuckle
at my expense.
